Apologies for the delay on this blog, I (Soulshot), came down with Covid at the start of January, and just didn’t have the energy to finish this up for the 5th. Doing better now though! As for December, with it being the Holidays, not a ton of interesting stuff went down, but we still have a few tidbits to share.
Focal Engine and Continuum RT
Despite the Holidays, the 1.17 version of Focal is almost complete, and the team is hopeful that a 1.18 version won’t be nearly as difficult and time consuming. No promises, but hopefully this means we can get it updated to 1.18 soon after the 1.17 version drops.
Continuum 2.1
Work on 2.1 continues, with dot continuing to work on a few last minute cleanups, while the rest of the team has been working on tossing in as many of the remaining missing features that will be required to get 2.1 to Beta status as they can. We may be able to share some teasers of some of these features soon.
Stratum
Stratum didn’t have the most active month, again, due to the Holidays, but a few notable textures were added, namely; Peonies, Seagrass and Tall Seagrass.
Because of the festivities and their effect on productivity though, we did choose to push the next build of Stratum to the end of January. This should ensure we can deliver a decent sized update at that time. Things should return to normal after that.
Some screenshots for these new textures can be found below.

Holiday 2021 Screenshot Contest Results
Before we go, we wanted to showcase the results of the Holiday screenshot contest we ran last month. We had some great submissions, per usual, and we appreciate everyone who participated! We already can’t wait for the next one!

We hope everyone had the best 2021 and Holiday Season they could, given the circumstances. Let’s hope 2022 is better for everyone!
Thanks for another year of support. We’ll see you next month!
