Read on to find out what we’ve been up to this past month.
Focal Engine and Continuum RT
Finishing 2.1’s Focal Engine build was the highest priority item this past month, so we don’t have much to share about Focal Engine in this progress update. Once Continuum 2.1 Build 13 is closer to completion, focus will start to shift back to Focal.
With that shift, Focal will gain some improved support for Shutter (our new Partner, Studio Archetypes innovative camera mod), as well as Minecraft 1.17. Then, once the move to Vulkan is complete, RT will move back up on our priority list.
Continuum 2.1
As we mentioned above, finishing this 2.1 update has been the highest priority for us this past month. This has resulted in a good bit of progress, specifically: our new specular is almost finished, and is just in need of AO integration, and some fine tuning. Weather is almost complete as well (might have some teasers for that soon). Once those two things are completed, we only have some polish on nighttime (as the new sky model affected it more than expected), some general sanity checks, and we should be set for a release!
During this months sprint of 2.1 development, dotModded did a fair few dev streams. If you would like to catch up on those, we have made the replays available on our YouTube channel. We will likely have at least a few more streams during the month of August as well, so if you want to catch us live, be sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell!
