Another month down...here's what we were up too:

Continuum RT

Almost everyone on the team has been at least involved in what we have coming up for RT…sadly, we have nothing we feel comfortable sharing at this stage. Rest assured, the wait should be worth it if we manage to pull off what we are attempting.

We’d love to share some info with you all in the mean time, but we want to actually be ready before we announce much of anything relating to the next stage of this project.

So, until we have more to share, here are some nice screenshots taken this month with Continuum RT build 12 (click on images to enlarge)

Continuum 2.1

Despite near everyone still being focused on RT and the secret sauce we are cooking up for it, Robo still found the time for a few significant updates to 2.1 Alpha, and a new build this month. With these updates we are another step closer to Beta status.

Here’s a list of the most noteworthy updates:

  • Fixed Lily Pad rendering (spurred by upcoming Stratum update)
  • Added and polished Caustics
  • Added and polished Nether specific shaders
  • Improved GI
  • Improved water wave smoothness
  • Set default bloom samples to 10
  • Some minor optimizations
  • Various small bug fixes

Here are some screenshots of some of these updates (click on images to enlarge)

Stratum

Stratum development has continued as usual, but work on the full automation of builds is still being massively delayed by other projects. We hope to have a new build with all the recent additions and changes out soon though.

What was done this month:

Added

  • Lily Pad V1
  • Furnace V1 (expect changes)
  • Added Dark Oak Leaves to performance leaves addon
  • Added AO to Granite

Tweaked / Fixed

  • Minor fixes to dirt and nether bricks
  • Improved stone color to match cobblestone and andesite better
  • Granite color tweak
  • Andesite color tweak
  • Fixed noisy heightmap
  • Made Dark Oak use Oak texture and apply color tint, possibly freeing up some memory

Wrapping up...

We once again want to thank you all for your continued support. We hope you all stay safe and healthy. See you guys next month 🙂
